Interp: On a values topic, the affirmative must specify and defend an advocacy that embodies the resolution’s value

Violation: the affirmative just defends the resolution as written

Standards:

  1.     Ground

A. Aff Shift: Absent aff parametrization aff gets an explosion of ground because the aff gets to defend that any form of violence is good, which means the aff gets to shift to any specific violence in the mg and shift out of all of the specific offense of the loc. This is uniquely bad for the neg because the aff gets to frame the debate with the first and last speech, which means the neg has to get good ground to make up for it.

B. Ground: Equal division of ground is uniquely key for fairness, because if one team has an inherent structural advantage going into the debate then that is the definition of unfair. It means that the negative gets more paths to the ballot simply for being on the negative.
