Interp: Negative advocacies must only be specific, solvent policy actions implemented by a single actor, with an articulation that explains the implementation of the policy and cannot fiat a rejection or mindset shift.
Violation: They don’t (either their CP/K does not endorse a policy option by a single actor and/or they don’t have a solvency advocate and/or fiat a mindset shift).
Standards:- Strat Skew- Aff strat: Mindset skews Aff strats for two reasons. The first is because since there is no way to test how the alt is actually implemented the negative can just delink from solvency indicts and link turns by saying “this is not my mindset shift.” Secondarily, absent an articulation of what fills in the gaps it’s impossible to know what sort of mindset will replace the old one which means the negative can delink from impact turns.- Fairness: This is the IL to fairness because it voids the entirety of the MG’s strat on the negative advocacies which is the only time the aff can make new arguments and functionally means that the aff will always be terminally behind. Strat skew is uniquely key to fairness because debaters need to be able to win sticky arguments against their opponents to have access to the ballot.Reciprocity- Aff Burden: Without a concrete policy action with solvency, they can only win by proving that something is bad without actually proposing a way to actually solve that in the material world. This means the burden of the affirmative is much higher than that of the negative, in that the affirmative has to prove that the aff solves and the negative is bad, the negative just has to win that the aff is bad.- Fairness: Reciprocity is the IL to fairness because reciprocity is by definition the only way to have fairness, if the burdens of the debate are not reciprocal it means that one team will always be structural ahead just by walking into the room.- Turns the Alt: This also turns the alt because reciprocal burdens are key to solve issues of oppression, being able to properly fire test resistance strategies against oppression that makes sure they don’t fall back into the same structures of oppression.
